Recipes: Vanilla Part Two

With a few vanilla beans left I decided to go out on a limb and try something totally different, a savory dish using vanilla beans.  After doing a little research I decided to try is vanilla-beef combination.

I seasoned my beef with chili powder and cinnamon

I trimmed the fat, chopped an onion, cubed the beef and cut 2 vanilla beans in half.

Everything went into my crock pot and cooked on low for 8 hours.

The end product?  Surprisingly delicious!  I shredded it to be used in dishes that would normally call for shredded beef.
