My favorite way to save on my favorite fruit? Buy when they are in season and/or on sale and freeze them.
Sometimes a really great berry deal can be even better than buying them pre-frozen.
For example:
Here are some frozen berries. This bag contains 2.5 cups and costs $3.19

Over the summer I purchased an assortment of berries at a great price of $.88 a pint. I spread the berries on a cookie sheet to freeze them individually and then threw them in ziplock bags once frozen to use all winter long.
Freezing them on a cookie sheet allows each berry to freeze separately, freezing a whole container together will leave you with one big frozen berry mess.
1 pint = 2 cups. 1 cup of my own frozen berries ends up costing me around $.44 cents. 1 cup of frozen berries from above cost $1.28, that's a savings of $.88 cents!
Berries will keep in the freezer for up to a year and can be taken out a cup at a time for use.
