Sunday Funday in Savannah Georgia

Greetings from Savannah Georgia! We flew in on Friday night and have been enjoying all of the sights and fun things that the Savannah/Hilton Head area has to offer.

I have been trying to stick to a more or less healthy consumption pattern and with all of the walking we have done around the Historic District it has been a pretty healthy little get away so far. But guess what, it is now Sunday, which means Sunday Funday!

Savannah is known for southern staples such as fried okra, squash, butter beans, black-eyed peas, biscuits and gravy, the Cajun Tinity (jambalya and gumbo), pecan pie, fruit cobbler, chicken and dumplings, hush puppies, greens, cornbread and most importantly fried chicken! YUM!

Lucky for me today's plans include spending a good portion of the afternoon (say 1-4pm local time) in a sports bar cheering on THE BEARS! What a better place to allow for a little diet wiggle room that in a sports bar, I mean come on, sports bars are not usually known for their salads...

So cheers everyone, enjoy your Sunday Funday, give yourself a break and crack open a nice cold one or mix up some sweet tea and pair with whatever tailgating goodies you might have planned!
